Key map window focus in Live 9
Key map window focus in Live 9
Is this possible? Annoying to have to reach for the mouse to do this.
Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
if you hit tab once/twice you get focus to session/arrangement
if you hit shift-tab once/twice you get device /clip
if you hit ctrl-f and some arrows you're in the browser.
alt+arrows is now for midi note editing

Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
it means they move midi notes free without snapping to grid..funken wrote:This link tells us nothing new. Why can't you answer my questions?3dot... wrote:viewtopic.php?f=1&t=190704
you could have just tried it yourself in the time it took you to write that awfully tedious post
the op asked for native solution.. and didn't mention he was on mac btw

Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
showing / hiding sections hadn't changed.. it's still ctrl+alt+b
there is a bug though... when showing/hiding browser the 'focus' is lost in limbo...
arrow keys have no effect..
no worries.. a tab here ctrl f there and you're good to go

you do.. if the grid is on.funken wrote: You don't need a modifier to move notes without snapping to the grid, that is the beauty of the whole new system, as explained in my tutorial on midi editing in Live 9.
The modifier for finer resolution for dragging always was and still is, if you feel the need to still use it, cmd. In a PC, cmd is usually replaced by ctrl. In the Live manual it says it is ctrl. Am I missing something here?
and it's alt+arrows
you can double check that on your buddies pc

Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
on the topic on ctrl+arrows inside the midi editor..
if selecting a range with lasso that exceeds note selection...
ctrl+ any arrow will narrow selection to range of selected notes

alt + arrows works in real life.. in the editor pretty much like I've describedfunken wrote:The manual (page 588) says ctrl is the Windows version of cmd for finer resolution for dragging. This is not new, it was in Live 8. Alt may work as well, but officially it is ctrl.3dot... wrote:you do.. if the grid is on.funken wrote: You don't need a modifier to move notes without snapping to the grid, that is the beauty of the whole new system, as explained in my tutorial on midi editing in Live 9.

(although up/down arrows have no function with alt/ctrl modifier it appears)
dragging is something different altogether...

And if you happen to run across anything weird; you know where to ask. I have my 'RTFM n00b!' macro all primed and ready to go![]()

Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
on selected notes:
shift + left.right = longer / shorten notes
shift + up.down = transposition by octave

Re: Key map window focus in Live 9
I'm on a Mac. I also found using alt + arrows seems to resize and/or move loop handles in midi editor, whereas it used to move window focus. It's a bummer, but no biggie. A M4L device for doing it would be cool.
The iKey stuff is cool as well. If it was free I would've tried it.
