I had a shipping job once and a customer couldn’t understand why there was no UPS Ground shipping option from California to Hawaii. :lol:

Ableton_David wrote:If you've ordered a Push from ableton.com, then the shipping estimates you saw in the shop at the time your put in your order are correct for you. Please check your personal delivery time in your account on ableton.com - it will be updated dynamically.

At present, it will take an estimated 16 or more weeks for Push units to arrive that are ordered from ableton.com today.

<snip>
I was pretty disappointed to see my Push delivery date, which was 12-16 weeks when I ordered, change to 16 weeks or more a couple of days AFTER I ordered. Not a huge problem if it's 16 weeks (could've been that anyway), or 17, or 18 (what's another week or two). But what if it's 20 or 24 or ... ? "More" could be "months more"!!!!

Direct question for David (or any other Abes). If I can find one locally in the next couple of months can I cancel my order even though I got the discount "by it now", first week price?

You definately can. I did it. Emailed them to cancel and within twenty four hours I received a reply and Push disappeared from my account. The price is cheaper online though. It's costing me more to buy retail.

For me it was the other way around. It's cheaper to buy Retail, then order online at Ableton.

Yay. Same here (except for 12-14 -> 12-16) :?
I get the bad impression that they try to get a rough estimate on how many units shall be manufactured before they actually do it in larger batches. :roll:

yeah .... it's the "or more" part that really scares me!

if I can find Push local for not much more then I might go for it.

Just got off the phone with Musician's Friend about another order and asked about my Push I pre-ordered in mid-February. Apparently the first round is arriving tomorrow and should be shipping by Wednesday. We'll see what the week brings...

I guess it depends on when you ordered, or your location...I see 12 to 16 weeks right now.

THIS... they can pump these things out pretty fast in china (anything anymore really). The production over there is actually pretty intense. I would say your right on the money with the rough estimate..bad business model though. Pissing off people so you don't overproduce units that will eventually be sold anyway. WEAK

probably a dude with a nickname "bartend7" knows a terrible lot about how to set up a business with production lines in China, supply chains from all over the place and headquarters in Berlin, so I think we all have to take this analysis really really seriously :P

I've actually heard a rumor that many batches were returned to the manufacturer.. no passing quality standards..
might explain the delay...
