It says in the PDF manual the following for Cubase...
"...When using Cubase as a ReWire master, it is important to check the ``Favour Midi Timing'' option...." Does anyone know where this setting is?
Will this make a difference?
I checked cubase and live...
Anyway, here's what happens...
I luanch cubase SX, create new project, start LIVE rewire, launch LIVE, then after only adding one drum loop and creating a few tracks (Cubase SX), the drum loops (LIVE) start to stutter and skip.
I have 4 HDs, 7200 RPM, 8 meg cache, 512 DDR, and my CPU is Athlon 2700. The Cubase shows less than 10% CPU usage (even after gigastudio loaded) and zero (0) % HD usage. I make mention of this as I have been using many programs, including numerous VST's and REASON rewire, and know the problem is not hardware related.
Thanks...
I just downloaded the demo....somewhat interested in it...I own Acid 4.0b, but it's sync capabilities are not that good, so some thought is being looked into this platform for use with Cubase SX/Nuendo,with LIVE as the drum loop section.
thanks
Cubase SX and LIVE (rewire question) "favor midi timin
Can't find button either
I have the same problem. This manual is far from being ideal. The bare minimum when telling us to "favour midi timing" would be to tell us where to go in the software. Someone answer this question. Where is the Favour midi timing button in CubaseSX. Is it only in 5.1? What is the deal. Sorry I couldn't answer your question.
Hi folks,
I agree that the "Favour Midi Timing'' phrase is not so easy understandable. As far I know (with reservations because I'm currently at home and have no Mac Cubase version here) this option is just contained in Cubase VST under OS 9. Not in the PC version and also not in Cubase SX. But I will check this in the next week to get sure.
buzzlo11,
do you have this "stutter and skip" also if Live runs standalone?
Does it makes a difference when you increase/decrease the latency setting for the ASIO driver in Cubase?
Do you have this "stutter and skip" also if you have just one loop in Live and nothing else in Cubase?
Does it happen for all loops or is it related to some special ones?
regards,
Alex

By the way
By the way Alex. Maybe the "Favour midi timimg" button which I cannot find will solve my problem. I am on a PC version of CUBASE and LIVE. Please just tell me where this button is or where a similar button is. Also, I get the warning message that I have "encountered rewire problems" when I boot up LIVE maybe that can help you diagnose my problem.
Thank you
