Is Live 9 better at communicating with Maschine than Live 8

Post by bilt22 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 1:47 pm

I and many others (PC Users it seems) have consistantly had trouble with settings for Maschine VST - Audio In/Out set ups with Live 8. However DAW's like Logic seem to be straight forward.

Does anyone know if Live 9 will sort this problem out?

Nothing has changed on this as far as I can tell but I didnt think anything needed changing to be honest. Never really had a problem myself.

But, functionality is currently reduced due to the Live template not being compatable with Live 9 for now. That will change soon enough though.

Live 9 beta doesn't really communicate with the Maschine hardware at all. Live 8 however works great for me on PC. I am surprised to hear other people are having trouble with it. I am having a great time with it.

The newly updated Live controller template for Maschine works great with Live 9. It's also been updated for Live 8 as well (minor bug fixes).

i just busted out my maschine, cuz i thought maybe in recent months i was being a hater, without really giving the new template a shot. then i got re-bitter when i had to change all my pads from "poly pressure" (default setting) to "note" (in controller editor) in order to get the velocity right. (because in midi mode, for some reason, the pads don't respond nearly as good as they do in stand alone unless you do this) also unpsyched to have to update the template, again, for the 9 upgrade.

i know i hate on mashine a lot around here, but it deserves it, for all of the stupid stuff you have to do to get it to just communicate with live (i've updated templates 3 times yikes), and the lack of any kind of support on it (aside from diving into the forums)
it still has the best pads around.

What's always weird to me, is that you come from not liking, to re-install the controller editor every so often and Maschine not being the perfect Ableton Live controller to weighing in on other peoples Maschine experience concerning totally different aspects and telling them it must be shit, because you had to reinstall the controller editor. It gets really old, really fast

i weigh in, because this is a forum, and weighing in, is kind of what is done in forums, right?

as far as me weighing in too much about maschine, i don't weigh in, nearly as much as "others" around here weigh in. i make my point and i roll, depending on who is in the thread. if the a fore mentioned mashichine fan-holes are in the the thread, obviously it turns into something different, because those guys are straight up ASSHOLES. that is what started all this. i said my piece once and those f@ckholes bashed me for a few days about how i was wrong about my experience. so, i have made it my personal mission to give at least one or two, honest, fair, cons about maschine for every 10 pages of pro's those assholes hammer into anyone who posts about maschine. 1- because i have had a bad experience, and i want to share with new people who may not know all that is involved with making masChine work with another DAW, before they spend their hard earned money, and get stuck with theirs like i got stuck with mine and 2-to mess with people like humnuts and delirious-o, who will post 100 comments about why you are wrong for having a bad experience with maschine.

as far as me trying to keep messing with maschine, it's been mentioned, more than a few times, i got stuck with mine. so am i going to keep messing with it to try to see if i can salvage it. obviously, it is a work in progress, since maschine makes it difficult.

for the record, i never said it was shit. i actually really wanted to LOVE maschine. it was just buggy, not intuitive (to set up or to use with live) and you (or at least i) couldn't return it. that is all i have ever said about it. i don't try to brainwash people or beat them into submission, like "some" people around here.

lastly..... who asked you, tom? you don't know what i've been through with maschine or humnuts and delirious-o. so get out of my face!

you started in with me tom, out of no where. what did you expect? me to be nice to you after that? or your comment to make me see the "error of my ways"? you are only 78 posts into this forum, i've been dealing with this maschine argument, for what seems like years(in forum time) if you have issue with anything i say, involving maschine, take it up with the people that started all of this with me, in the first place. otherwise, stay out it, because it's obvious, you don't know what you are talking about.
i see how YOU roll, sucka!

After some time, Ableton started to become less laggy when using Maschine as VST in Live 8. Not sure why this is, but it works fantastic. I might have changed around some of the latency issues. (Knocks on Wood)
