Cant use live 8 instruments on live 9. Says I need Analog

Hi. Sorry but I couldn't find any topics about this. I'd really appreciate any help.

I upgraded from live8 to live9 but I cant seem to use any of live8's instruments, it says i need analog. which costs 70 bucks?

Anyone going through the same thing?

What version did you come from (Live 8 - ?) to Live 9 - ?

A quick check shows that instruments aren't included in Live 9 Standard. However if you went from Suite 8 to Live 9 Standard you will be able to use them, you'll probably have to just load them off the Live 8 DVD's. I don't think they are downloadable from your software page of your account at www.ableton.com

Did you happen to go from 32-bit Live 8 to 64-bit Live 9?

EDIT: Also, might want to take a look at this. The Live 8 library is supposed to show up automatically in Live 9, but there are ways to force it if that doesn't happen.

Hi.

I did post that that's it sorted, but there's a BUT

Half of the live8 presets are working, like synth bass, synth brass, synth bleep

but the guitar pre-sets say i Need 'Tension' and the synth Lead says I need 'Analog' anyone else got this problem?

Also just to clarify.

I have my Live9 instruments showing through the lovely new 'Instrument' menu option.

To access Live8's instruments I have to go via the 'Live8 Library' option.

All Live8's standard instruments are showing, but only half of them now work, the other half say I need Tension, Operator, Analog to use them.

It's a little frustrating as I'm unable to use a lot of instruments I was really fond of, the standard version of live9 seems to have way less instruments than Live8 standard.

Still loving 9 more though, it's just a lovely bit of kit.

Live standard comes with Simpler, Impulse... have I missed anything?

Live Suite comes with Sampler, Operator, Analog, Tension, etc. You need Suite to use them (although maybe there's some demo mode or something)

And if you went from 8 Suite to 9 Standard you may have to dig up the instruments from your Live 8 Suite box/download and re-install them to Live 9 Standard as you are able to use them in 9 Standard if you have them from Suite 8. I have not looked into what's showing under Live 8 Library Instruments, but will try to next time I boot that system up. I believe under 9 I did see all of them (I went Suite anyways for M4L and such).

Hi Andy - which packs exactly are you trying to use?

Most packs included with Live 8 have been updated and improved for Live 9, so we would recommend re-downloading the pack in question from our Packs page and re-installing it for Live 9.
