Live 9 Suite empty drum rack

Post by Soldier of Sound » Fri Mar 29, 2013 3:41 pm

Just upgraded from 8 to 9 Suite and not sure if I installed properly or skipped a step or something because I cannot find any samples under drum rack. I did try opening 8 after downloading 9 so not sure if that affected it...any advice?

Live 9 has a whole new library, and it does not import anything from Live 8. You can bring your Live 8 library into the browser, or you can reinstall all of your live packs and delete your Live 8 library, it's up to you.

Ok thanks! Did a quick search on how to uninstall Ableton on Mac but seems its a lot different from uninstalling programs on Windows PC. I deleted the shortcut already and I think I was supposed to write down the library path or something :-( so frustrating. Whats the easiest way to just get rid of 8 altogether and just have 9?

So I reinstalled Ableton 8, checked preferences, wrote down library path and couldn't find any Ableton 8 folders. But I check the library preferences on Live 9 and it has option to still link to location of Live 8 library? I click on Browse and it shows the application folder but all the 808 kicks and etc under the drum rack instrument presets are greyed out? I am so lost right now...
