I'm having a huge problem with the new automation scheme.
I've midi mapped (from my external midi controller) to a parameter of a midi effect (in this case 'length' of the "note length" midi effect) and recorded it in an automation lane.
When I go to play it back the automation always becomes disabled/grey EVEN when pushing the orange (in the transport) 're-enable automation' button. This happens in Both L9.0.2 and the new beta L9.0.3
The only work around I've found is to go into the midi mapping of the device and delete the midi mapping. That's the only way the automation will NOT become disabled when I hit play. I've even tried this without the midi controller plugged in (in case its broadcasting something).
When I'm trying to playback neither the 'midi arrangement overdub' or 'automation arm' buttons are on.
What am I doing wrong?
Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
Re: Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
does your midi controller have any jitter to the values? That may be causing live to see it as sending new values. Does this happen if you keep the mapping, but unplug the device? Or map it to another control?
Re: Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
Hey!
No jitter at all. It even happens when I've unplugged the controller and restarted Live without the controller ever being present.

Re: Problems with Midi Mapped Automation in Arrangement
Hey i'm also having this same issue. It's strange as it doesn't appear to be the case when recording automation from an external controller using automap. It's only when specific MIDI controls are assigned.
