it pretty much has no place in hip hop or else where that i can think of, so if someone insightful and constructive could tell me what you got out of this, that would be great.

yep, we also are gonna need a hook in the song. too bad nate dogg isnt around no more. he could sing a hook over this.

i didn't really want a hook but i'll keep it in mind. what you said about the mic volume is great advice, thanks. i think it's because i move around when i'm recording.

Hip Hop isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I was compelled to check this out after seeing your other post. I'm glad I did, because its pretty good. I like the vocal style, probably because it isn't "hard" or "crunk." Its actually somewhat poetic and eloquent. I like that there is a story to it. The backing track is very good. I agree with locknar, it is kind of reminiscent of Nate Dogg / Warren G. Very listenable. I like that pic on your souncloud page too. Best of luck to you.

hip hop/rap has always made sense to me in terms of writing and style. there is so much garbage rap out there though that people just aren't interested.

also, i'm speaking purely in metaphors. i think every line in that song is a metaphor.

i used a little in the first bar and then shut the compressor off. i'd like to develop good enough mic technique where that isn't necessary though.

what type of audience do people see this being targeted to? i might need to make more music to figure that out but i'm curious
