Xlr-Jack cables to connect audio interface to monitors

Post by barezi6 » Fri Apr 05, 2013 7:32 pm

Hi everyone.
I bought a pair of krk rokit 8 g2 and an audio interface, focusrite saffire pro 14.
I have a RCA and XLR inputs on monitors, and in the focusrite saffire pro 14 have jack outputs to connect with the monitors.
I saw that the XLR is better than RCA, but i dont know the best quality/price cables that i can buy, the speakers are 1m from the audio interface, i am talking about the distance because of the balanced and unbalanced cables.
What should i consider on the cables?
if you know some good cables with a good price and can give me a link or the name of them, will be great.

Where are you located (so we can give you a local link in your currency)?

IMO if your speakers are that close to the interface then balanced vs unbalanced doesn't really matter.

If I were you I'd just buy a typical pair of TRS jack to XLR cables

I will buy in amazon uk.
I can spend about 15€ per cable.

Thanks for the help, i am considering the 2º link, both are full compatible with krk rokits and my audio interface, correct?

if i bought the second link cable, it will give me a good sound quality transport?
I really want clear sound, the best that i can have with my monitors and my audio interface, i dont want to be limited by a pair of cables.

If anyone have others advises, opinions, etc, it will be great for my choice.

Thanks :)

It doesn't really matter if you use XLR or jack at the Rokit end, because both inputs connect to the same place.

With short cable length like this, I don't think you'll experience any issues with sound quality.
