Push External Instrument Drone Problem

Post by adrianalex » Sun Apr 07, 2013 8:40 pm

Hi,

I just set up a Midi chain with a few synths. Everything has a midi thru, throughout the chain. I am able to draw midi notes in clips and use External Instrument to send midi to each synth. I was also able to do it without External Instrument with midi routing, as I don't have enough inputs on my soundcard to record each instrument back into the external device track. I am mixing the outputs outside the box... Both ways worked fine- UNTIL I tried playing the synths with Push.

The synths would take the first note, turn it into a long drone that would go on and stay droning-- pressing more Push pads would sometimes trigger a different note that would then just drone on. Nothing would show up in the midi clip . This drone would only stop once I hit the spacebar a couple of times. What was strange, is that if I drew in notes into a clip, the synths would play fine, and Push would even show pads lighting up where the notes were, but as soon as I hit a pad on Push-- drone.

Anyone have any idea what is happening? I tried different monitoring options- same thing.

Sorry to hear about your problem.

I haven't had the same experience exactly but mine is similar

wouldn't you just use the I/O of each track to send the signal to your external gear

I set up MIDI Channels and have my synth receive MIDI Channel 14

I have two keyboards to play the synth, well one Keys and one Pad (a Trigger Finger), I have the Trigger Finger on Channel 13 so I can route it's MIDI to an Octave up and down feature I made with Pitch.

Anyway I can't play the Push on any other MIDI tracks without it sending signal to MIDI Channels 13 and 14. Weak so f-ing Weak!!!!

Your problem sounds like a malfunction of the MIDI Note OFF and you can't change that on the Push,

Wish I had more input for you.....
