It'll be harder to do some common finger drumming techniques on Push like double triggering the same pad with two fingers due to the smaller pads.

I didn't say it cannot be done. Just saying that it's far from ideal for certain techniques like playing on the same pad with two fingers. While it might work ok for you, the smaller size of the Push pads are going to make it more difficult for a lot of people in comparison to regular sized drum pads for finger drumming.

Not only can it be done but the premier finger drummer of the world seemed pretty well pleased with it at NAMM. Jeremy Ellis has certainly done his part for Maschine but I'd be really damn surprised not to see him rocking a Push in the near future. BTW Jeremy Ellis is amazing, haha. Danced to his skills at Funk Night here in Detroit. It was pretty amazing.

Oh, yeah. Sorry, Jeremy Ellis is from my hometown so he always comes to mind first. Fingers is amazing as well though.

Im amazed this thread hasn't gone tits up yet and consumed by The Great War of Push vs Maschine...
I love Maschine. The pre release marketing for Push was winning me over but then I got to grips with Maschine as a controller for Live and never looked back. I've been a right jammy little shit with my purchases too. Brand new Maschine MkI for £330 in the sale last September and then last week I bagged a Komplete 8 crossgrade for £125 so I am delighted with everything I now have. Coupled with Live 9 Suite and I am laughing.

I had the mikro and didnt really like it. the work flow was not good for me. and i didnt like the software.
Re: I bought a Maschine Mikro while waiting for PUSH
Yeah, definitely move up to the full one. I would feel way too limited with a Mikro.Theo Void wrote:I have the Mikro MK2 and now I really am thinking about dropping the extra couple hundred for the full one.
Re: I bought a Maschine Mikro while waiting for PUSH
Ya. I got 30 days from around April 6. I get paid well b4 then so I'm definitely gonna take the mikro back and upgrade to full size. I'm surprised how much I love it, really. This is the workflow I've been looking and with an extra screen, group buttons and those 8 knobs, ill be right jammin for a minute. It cAme w/ Massive too and komplete elements!!!! Fucking awesome!!
I just hope I don't have to transfer software or anything stupid like that when upgrading.
I still want a push but I think I'm gonna wait awhile.

Another HUGE vote for the full maschine. The mikro is just a taste of what you can do.

Yes, I just did exactly the same thing. My 30 days are just about up with the Mikro, and I'm sending it back and exchanging it for the full Maschine. Like others, I am astounded at how much I like the new version; I tried the early version some years ago, but it didn't have anywhere near the functionality of the new versions.
And the sound are great. I have other controllers I can use with Live (APC40, Launchpad, padKontrol, etc.), and I'm almost thinking of keeping the Mikro even when I get the full Maschine for portability... but no, that's overkill.. still....
Maybe Push someday down the line, but for now I'm going to dive into Maschine and how it relates to Live....
I do wish Ableton all the best with Push, but Maschine is just extraordinary (and version 2.0 of the OS is just around the corner.... maybe....)
