I'm a bit confused - we have to download an entire beta (600 something megabytes) to read the updated manuals?

I would have complain about installing it indeed, not the 600 little MB you won't downloadb it from a cellular ?

That's true, as Dennis pointed that english manual always has a little advance being the original and others must wait translation >>> you always will have updates in update Live 9 releases, and because there's an update in Live 9.0.3 beta 3,

>>> the choice is to wait for official releases because you don't want to spend time/storage/WTF with a beta, or be aware about fixes, new stuff and having the last manual by installing the beta once, since every Live Beta (8 and 9) always apply "auto-updates" which are ghosts : I prefer full installed updates but one I launch Live Beta, had to close, re-open it and ??? >>> some 5-10min opened, closed, update done.

The choice is yours after all...

@Blendton. The first time I read one of your long ass rants of a post I said, "This guy is totally nuts!" Now that I can understand most of your posts I've realized you're pretty hilarious and usually totally on point.

Dude, you deserve a kiss. You won't have it.

No joke I'm pretty fucking HAPPY that JUST ONCE (since intro) and at that time THE ONLY AND FIRST guy who make me such the honor to have been busted : talk too much, seems nothing to say, ... "Hey wait, he DOES say something, hidden in that wall of crap.

Thank you I'm so surprised in act ... Wow.

Bonus thanks thinking the hidden real sense behind the scenes and non-sense look of my posts :).

I may be pretty clever++ or not, can't be sure, you know, keeping humble mind etc. But you are clever.

That said.

Respectful and warm regards.

Your welcome! My posts aren't half as clever or entertaining as yours so the pleasure is all mine...

Back on topic: I haven't hardly cracked the manual myself. The device is pretty intuitive if you've used anything like this before. I also like to teach myself and then get surprised when I finally crack the manual and learn new functions.

That bold little piece of your post ... so hard to read, or hear, someone who's aware about self-learning, hmmm shouldn't start the typing-machinegun now.

I prefer enjoting for a little being not alone to search before asking, to work before needing others to give me their time etc.

And in fact... I'm reading (because I'm about to consider uninstalling it) the printed Live 8 french manual, printed as 8.0 no amp no APC20 no Launchpad and "M4L section = 1 page + a half" edition :P.

So yeah, pleased too. An "ableton-of-wise-thinking" mate, here, it's so cool... And believe me, if I say "so cool" 90's style (too young for the fonzie reference sorry) ... it means I'm really surprised, a lot.

See ya dude

As an add to the previous :

Indeed I often read a manual for something, almost everytime I just read what's about something I don't know or never will.

I'm not very ... oops a bug > retry

For instance, I NEVER EVEN ONCE use Electric, Amp, etc. That's what I like to read in the manual.

That said, the printed edition from my Live9 Suite french box helped me for a nasty "no bug" problem : press control key while browsing to allow several folders opening and not closing the previous each time you click elsewhere.

Therefore, the "problem" I write as described above was at that time pointed in the forum AND in the Answers Community. When I discover the info was in the manual how ashamed I felt lol ...

Oh, I'll definitely read the manual but self discovery is fun and helps you judge how intuitive the craftsmanship of a product is. I usually wait until I'm pretty pissed off about not being able to figure something out before I consult the manual when I first start out with a product. Once I'm a bit settled in I like to read the manual over in my spare time when I'm not in front of the computer. Right now I don't have a printed copy so I'm still just feeling my way around Push and Live 9 and having a blast at it, consulting the manual when I get bitchy . Soon I'll have to get to work though. ::sigh:: But I guess that's when fun turns into rewarding work.

I've done this type of thing myself (recently), it happens. We get excited, pissed, overlook things. I definitely should exhaust my searches a little more before asking for help but I have this wonderful community here that I can use as a crutch if I need to! Haha, just kidding ya'll.

OK. Exception : entering sketchy mode.

You also come @ Answers or in some tasty "electronic sheep" to have fun with killing them ? lol

I love doing that. The guy wonders how to find his samples. WTF is the timeline which explains that freak to make this place more garbage, if drag/drop doesn't talk to him, some "bêêêêêêêêhhhhhhhhhhh" will do the job.

Yeah let's schedule a coop-session for sheep hunting dude !

To be honest I'm not quite sure what you're saying here :( Sorry, I know English isn't your first language. I have the official release of Live 9, just curious if the manual I have is already slightly outdated.

In short, if your PDF english manual is 611 pages long you've git thee last as for now.

If it is 607 pages, This is the previous one.

Thanks man! Hope I didn't offend you at all! Looks like I have the previous one. Any idea how I can get the most recent version without downloading the beta or anything?

Sorry but as I just checked three english PDF :

The one from 9.0.2 64-bit (Windows) : 607 pages

The one from "Learn Push" in ableton.com Help section : 609 pages

And the one from the latest 9.0.3b4 beta : 611 pages.

>>> As said before, the most recent your Live 9 release will be (therefore including betas) = the most recent PDF (and Lessons) revisions you will get.
