Adding CC outs for external instruments??
Adding CC outs for external instruments??
I can't seem to figure out how to add some CC out knobs for external instruments so I can automate external synths??
Re: Adding CC outs for external instruments??
you have to find out the cc used on your external gear .. map that cc# to a controller then connect that controller to your external instrument track hit record arm or monitor in and tweak away
macbook pro 2.5 i5 os 10.12 , TC Electronik Konnekt 48, Live 9, Cubase 9, event 20/20, Waldorf Blofeld, roland tb-03, roland Jx-03, korg mikrokontrol, novation nocturn, akai lpd8

I don;t see any controllers on the external instrument to map it too.hps909 wrote: map that cc# to a controller then connect that controller to your external instrument

Re: Adding CC outs for external instruments??
it was meant an external MIDI controller.
I also don't like this limitation of the ext instr. device, i wish that at least 8 (16 would be better) knobs would be available in order to assign them to cc and tweak.
To overcome this I had a guy develop me a max for live patch to fully integrate my waldorf Q in live.
it matches the 4 banks of 16 knobs of my doepfer pocket dial:
it looks like this:

i'll put this in the same MIDI track where the external instrument is and tweak away. a really nice solution.
it makes my life so much easier!
I just need this one since i sold almost all my hardware and kept a waldorf Q and a SH-101 which is not conrollable by cc, but I immagine that is would be possible to make something similar which is not fully dedicated to just one synth but can be used to control more synths, maybe with assignable knobs or something.

You can use Clyphx which comes with Macrobat to get CC-Racks.
Re: Adding CC outs for external instruments??
Should work, but you have to deal with the midi settings - Macrobat racks will not send#1thelark wrote:You can use Clyphx which comes with Macrobat to get CC-Racks.
to the track they are on, but to the MIDI port selected as MIDI out for the ClyphX script.
Re: Adding CC outs for external instruments??
CC-Control by Tobybear might at least give you 4 CCs.

I'm quite sure there are "VST-Faderboxes" with more knobs or faders,
but I can't find any at the moment...

Re: Adding CC outs for external instruments??
Thanks for the tips. Cant believe that ableton doesn't come with CC knobs, crazyyy. Flstudio incorporated that in ver1 10 years ago.
