I have sent help request but thought I'd try here also
so I stupidly pressed 'dump' on the MIDI pref screen next to the push control surface
It lit up saying 'updating fimrware do not remove USB cable'
I waited a couple of minutes then message changed to 'Update Failed'
The message stayed on the hardware so I shut down live and turned Push off but now it wont turn back on!!! Sad
anyone have any ideas?
thanks in advance

Silly question, but did you unplug the USB cable and then just try and power it on from the power supply? Also, maybe someone knows if there is a key combination to do a factory reset.

wild guess... but there is typically a reset button on devices to restore them to factory defaults. if you find a little hole just large enough to get a paper clip in, that would most likely be it. stick the paperclip in and count to... 10... would probably do the trick. or you might have to power down and hold down the paper clip in as you power it on.
again, just a guess, but you don't seem to be getting much in terms of help from all these peeps who have received their very own Push.

Cheers for suggestions. Yeah I thought there should be some kind of reset button, had a bit of a scan but not noticed anything so far. I was hoping there was some documentation that might help but cant find anywhere...
I am so annoyed as its been running great so far, bit surprised its so dead TBH and no obvious way to reinstall or reset...
hopefully Ableton will get back to me soon
thanks for help tho

If you leave it on and turn on ableton, does it still show up in the list of midi devices? You could always try doing the dump again if it does
I apparently screwed mine up trying to change the sysex in one of the py scripts so the touchstrip would output modwheel, after that it wouldnt work with the beta's but it would work with the official release. Id turn it on and it would just sit there when I started up ableton and wouldnt recognize it had been started
Once I hit the dump again and let it finish, then it was all good after that

Just tried that but unfortunately it doesnt show up.
It doesnt seem to get recognised by Windows as a USB device anymore, cant find it in device manager
I was reading elsewhere that the Akai MPD needed an external firmware loader....
thanks for suggestions!

Call them. They can speak English on the phone if you are worried about calling a German hotline.

Just to complete this thread... it now works!!
I spoke to Ableton on the phone who were very helpful and worked through several methods until it worked again.
Advice is DO NOT PRESS 'DUMP'!
but if you do contact Ableton and you should be good!
thanks for help
