I think, therefore I am. I think?
Re: Consciousness
Do you think, or do you just think you think? Personally, I've met enough bots in this world to know that at least some of you are fake.Dillinger63 wrote:I think, therefore I am. I think?

you're gonna have to define 'consciousness' before moving onto your Q's.
We start with an idea that's unproven, then move on to conjecture about what this unproven idea means.
It's a house of cards discussion, like debating whether god has a beard or not.

I don't think I'm fake, different maybe, but not fake.d.reamonn wrote:Do you think, or do you just think you think? Personally, I've met enough bots in this world to know that at least some of you are fake.Dillinger63 wrote:I think, therefore I am. I think?
Re: Consciousness
I'm different too. The other 6.973 billion people who inhabit this planet are nothing like me. For example, I like soup, and will readily order it when I eat out.Dillinger63 wrote:I don't think I'm fake, different maybe, but not fake.d.reamonn wrote:Do you think, or do you just think you think? I'm fake. I tattoo my soul with lies to protect myself from your ambiguously gay truth swords.

Re: Consciousness
You can't define really consciousness without resorting to synonyms though can you?Machinesworking wrote:Bingo!knotkranky wrote:Not so fast,

Re: Consciousness
the whole it exists in no tangible or physical space that we are currently able to capture, calculate, measure or even point to bit does create quite a breeding ground for synonyms and metaphors... and to some extent homily.

Re: Consciousness
If I lack the consciousness to recognize any consciousness in any 'thingBeing', am I right to say it has none?
Re: Consciousness
You could come to the conclusion you alone have consciousness and you 'd be wrong because only I doknotkranky wrote:If I lack the consciousness to recognize any consciousness in any 'thingBeing', am I right to say it has none?
