After recording to picture, bounced file is out of sync..

Hey all,

I'm having trouble with a video I'm trying to put score to. In the session everything is synced up perfectly, but when I bounce it (and import it into a brand new session to test it), the file is ever so slightly out of sync. Not by much, but enough to notice timing issues.

All the audio has been slightly moved forward on the timeline, and I have to pull it back a bit. I can manually re-sync the file, but I don't understand why it's even happening in the first place. I made sure nothing was warped. I even re-imported video file into the original session to make sure it wasn't just a bad file I had in there... but no luck. I realize a '2 pop' can help with the alignment post bounce, but I really want to understand the root of this issue.

Any ideas?

I just had this exact experience scoring a video last week, it's pretty horrible working with sync timing + video and Live 9. The only way I fixed it was to manually adjust the video track so it exported in sync, and had to deal with the out of sync issues in arrange view.

Did you set the video clips as the Warp Master.

there is a little button just beneath the Warp button that normally says Slave, click it and it will change to Master.

Unless they moved it in Live 9....

i usually work with an unwarped video file in arrange view, then line it up in FCP. I haven't had any issues this way, but I"m not using session view either.

Not that it solves your problem, but create a four bar test file out of video and run some experiments instead of re-rendering the full video.

another option, are you allowing live to render a new video or just the audio? Whichever it is try the other.

Not sure if this will help, but here goes: I have not had video/audio sync problems re-importing into LIve but definitely have when importing an audio mix (that was in sync with a video within Live) into a video editor like FCP or Premiere. This is because audio files (wav or aiff) do not have any framerate/timecode etc automatically inside them.

I solved this by downloading the free WAVEAGENT tool from sound devices, which is a nifty toolkit used in the film industry and allows you to add framerate info to your audio files, amongst other things.

Maybe this can help because at least you can make sure the framerate of the audio matches the video?
