pitched Synth

Post by K-Alert! » Wed Apr 17, 2013 10:26 pm

whats up everyone, ive been trying to find a way to make the kind of synth used in this song Ratchet by Zeds Dead
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCM8birUdys, in analog or operator. it seems like an easy sound to make, and ive come close but i cant get the same gritty sound or stab feel. Any tips?

Grit is all about (subtle) distortion, compression and dialing in actual noise. Stabs are generally about ADSR and chords.

There's definitely some ADSR action going on in the filter section. I've gotten these kinds of bubbly noise messing with the LFO too but I'm not sure that's what's going on here or how you would do that. Sounds like something you might be able to whip up in operator. Maybe try some slight detuning to the waveforms. Sounds like it could only be two waves at most though. I could definitely be wrong.
