Correct MIDI settings for Push

Post by shootdaj » Fri Apr 19, 2013 12:12 pm

Something was up with my Push so I tried messing with the MIDI settings and now my settings are all messed up and I cannot get Live to recognize Push. Can someone please copy/paste a screen shot of the correct MIDI settings for Push? Thanks.

i put push as the 6th control surface cause I like that colored ring

In and Out should be set to Push's Live Port

!!!DONT PRESS DUMP!!!!

.....and that's it, you should be getting Push to function ....

Hope this helps

Thanks, and what about the Track, Sync, and Remote columns? Are any of thoese turned on for Push? Thanks.

PS: The Push has at least two ports (1 and 2), which ones did you set the Control Surface input/output to?

There is only one Push option in the control surface drop down menu.

set In and Out NEXT to control surface to Push's Live Port

Don't mess Track Sync or Remote

Alternatively you can

set In and Out NEXT to control surface to Push's User Port

and then you may need to set Track and Remote for both the input and out quite like you would with any other NON control surface MIDI Controller

This is the User Mode for Push and kind sucks (Just my Opinion)

Hope this helps

Thanks for your help. Actually I got a reply back from Ableton support saying that for Windows, the configuration is as shown in the attached picture. The Track and Remote have to be ON for input, and the remote has to be ON for output.
