Difference between the 'NEW' and Duplicate function?

Post by Citizen » Mon Apr 22, 2013 1:44 am

When I have a Scene selected and playing, 'NEW' will duplicate the whole Scene - bar the channel selected. 'Duplicate' will simply duplicate the whole Scene.

What is the point of these two buttons? I don't understand why you would use the NEW button, instead of the duplicate button.

Maybe I'm missing something here?

Ah - so it duplicates all of the OTHER clips in other channels, but leaves a blank clip slot in the selected channel, with the intent of you recording a completely new clip there?

Right. Thanks!

Is there any way to make it ONLY duplicate the current track and not all the tracks playing in the scene?

Yep - in Session mode, press and hold 'duplicate' and then press the clip you wish to duplicate.

Ta-da!
