Velocity adjustment in sequencer

Post by withoutsnd » Wed Apr 24, 2013 9:21 am

When changing the velocity of a drum note in PUSH, you hold the pad and twist the knob. You can see the color of the pad lighten or darken but when you remove your hand and come back to it the velocity always says zero. Does PUSH not remember the value for individual notes?

The value displayed is not the velocity, but the difference in velocity from original setting. Once you let go of the the, the current value will be the original setting next time the pad is pressed.
I wish they'd make it show the current value tho

Right. You can turn it -10 (the difference from what it was) for example. Makes it hard to get multiple notes at the same velocity when you don't know the number value. One of my few small complaints...

This is huge to me, having the absolute value is a must, especially with the level of integration this product emphasizes

It puzzles me as to how the developers intended this to be a satisfactory solution to making consistent professional MIDI tracks

if this things was a "toy" I could understand but I expect more from a "Tool"

I discovered how annoying it is when using the repeat function. Simply held down the hi-hat pad and got 32 inconsistent hits.

If you wanted consistency from repeat you could use "accent"

The repeat should act like that. It's velocity controlled, I like that BUT if I edit them I want the to be able to truly edit and know I'm getting consistency. The current percent value thing is a shot in the dark. Especially sinse you can't view the oringal value of the hit. It's just bad planning on abletons part.
