Ableton 9 Downgrade 64 Bit to 32 Bit

Post by shhk88 » Sat May 04, 2013 2:07 pm

I installed Ableton 9 (64 Bit), but I realize that need to install 32 Bit to use some of the applications. What is the proper way to remove it and install 32 Bit? Btw, I have Ableton 8 (32 Bit ) installed. I want to keep that. Thanks!

I actually went the other direction, 32 > 64 after having tons of crashes with 32.

Option 1: install both, make 2 shortcuts. If one performs better/worse at least you already have both.

Option 2: uninstall 64 bit and install 32 bit. I took this route because 32 bit was not working out for me (I'll use v8 for 32 bit plugs).

Uninstalling my 32 bit caused NO loss of sounds, packs, sample index info etc. Meaning, once the 64 bit download completed installation, it worked in the exact capacity that my freshly uninstalled 32 bit program worked. IE: the new 64 bit knew exactly where my packs/folders/samples/recordings/file structure was.

That was really nice!

Good luck to you,
