Clip color changes to key change.
This was just a thought that would help anyone using ableton for live mashup shows. Since the key of any track can all be applied to a color wheel such as the photo below... ...it would be nice if Ableton let you set the color of the track you are using and have it adapt gradually as you increase the pitch. So every 6% increase or decrease to the clip it would fade to the next color on the wheel. Obviously this would apply only to clips you have under "re-pitch" warp mode. Anything under "complex" would maintain it's key no matter what speed you play it. This same effect could also be linked to the transpose feature for quick visual key matching of clips in "complex" warp. Adding this feature would visually make matching clips simple. And the equation would be much simpler for a computer to do it rather than trying to keep track of thousands of clips in your head.
As far as I know no other programs do that. Any feedback on the idea is appreciated and hopefully someone from ableton takes the time to look into this.

I, for one, would LOVE to have the option for Live to simply 'auto color' clips with Key tags (if they're mp3's)!!!
I like your idea of the clips being able to change color if the clip is transposed. Though, I'd appreciate a start at the above statement.
Thanks for putting this out there!

looks good and autotranspose with song root key

I actually (manually) color my clips according to the Camelot wheel.. I've had to adapt the color palette slightly because of the limited color options in Live but it definitely makes harmonic mixing easier and more fun especially when I'm too drunk to be reading 12A's and 11B's
I would love it if I didn't have to manually give my clips the colors but I can't imagine they would ever implement something like this because it is so specific to a certain way of working.. but we can dream, can't we?
