registration problem

Hi,

A few days ago I decided to try out Abelton Live and downloaded the trial version from the site (live 9 suite). All installed and authorised fine. I loved it that much I decided to purchase. Instead of puchasing from the online store I purchased from a store in the UK who had an offer on which was for a novation launchpad plus Abelton the standard version of live 8 with a free upgrade to abelton 9. I installed the verison of 8 on my system (still with 9 trial on) and it won't let me authorise it? When I open up Abelton 8 it then connects to abelton for authorisation but then says "saving and exporting successfully authorised, 26 days left" which is the same days left on the 9 trial. I then tried activating online by entering my serial code which is on the disc cover of my abelton 8 and it says "you do not own a licence for this serial number"

The wierd thing is when I log into Abelton and look at the software I have installed it only shows Abelton 9 live trial version, not abelton live 8. I've also tried hitting the authorise button inside of the abelton 8 menu which brings up a window saying "authorising software" this then goes on for about a minute then says "authorisation timed out" ?

I just can't get it authorise. I've sent abelton an email and the report that it creates but they don't open till Monday and I just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem or better still a solution?

This may be a silly question, but did you enter the Serial number you got with the version of Live 8 that you purchased? You should be able to visit your account page and find a link there saying "Register your copy of Live orPush."

yes. As I said above I tried entering my serial number via the website and it said "you do not own a licence for this serial number"?

You said that you tried activating it, which isn't answering the question that I asked. I'm asking whether you entered your serial number on this page.

hi,

yeah as I said I tried that and got the response "you do not own a licence for this serial".

All sorted now anyway... phoned Abelton support this morning and all working fine now.
