Device view is lost when switching tracks

I have third party plugins (Alchemy, etc) mapped with more than one bank of parameters to control. I like the way it's working. When I switch to another mode, like Volume, I can do things and when I go back into Device mode, I'm in the correct parameter bank where I left off. Perfect.

However if I switch to another track to do something and then switch back to the track I was just in, Device mode bounces back to the top. Since I'm putting all my plugins into racks to hold the device mappings, this bounces me back to the Macro level of the rack. Now I have to hit the arrow button until I get to the banks, then I have to select the correct bank I want to be in. I can lose a bar or two before I can get back to controlling my performance.

Is this a bug, or just a design flaw?

Design flaw. Try right-clicking the device and choose lock device to Push. Not exactly what you want, but it's a start.

Hopefully in future updates we can lock devices and banks from the hardware

Yeah, I know about locking devices, but I also don't want to keep locking and unlocking devices just to keep from losing my current state.

I think the real problem is how Live handles mapping 3rd party plugins.

Flaw 1) saving configurations only in the Live set and not at the device level. This is the reason I screwed away so much time with Novation Automap. Just wanted to configure hardware mapping once for each plug, not every time for each set.

Flaw 2) Racking up each plugin is close. But Blue Hand control always seems to default to the rack level, not the device level. I could live with that if I only wanted to control 8 parameters and (and this is a Big "and") the macro controls didn't have a bug in them where they don't update correctly. Ableton Tech support has acknowledged this, but hasn't fixed it yet.

I guess there is always a bleeding edge.
