Major Problems With V 5.0

It Just crashes & crashes & crashes
loading old songs - crashes
rendering - crashes
normal usage - CRASHES

need help With This Bad !!!

& yes I trashed the prefrences

Hi Udoh,

at first please go to the download section of our website www.ableton.com/download and get the latest Live 5 version, which is Live 5.0.1.

ok, then please provide us with more information.

loading old songs - crashes

If you use Plug-ins in this Live set you could momentarily disable the use of Plug-ins and try to load the Live set again.

rendering - crashes

Does it happen always? Or does it happen only in certain Live sets?
Does it makes a difference when disabling Plug-ins if used?

normal usage - CRASHES

What are the steps you have to do to get it to crash?

Please also provide me with the Log.txt and the Live.crash.log (if possible packed using zip, sit,...)

Alex, my friend.

As I've been pointing out in many threads:

Live 5 is a great piece of software. Indeed. Autowarp is awesome. Plugin delay compensation too.

But, as now I spent money on the upgrade I have to complain that the compatiblity with plugins is really not good. First I have to remember that I tested everything on Live 4.1.4 and everything worked. So these are problems with just Live 5.0.1 and not my studio problems.

All tests were made on Mac OS 10.3.9. G5, 2 MB Ram. Waveshell AU 5.0.1 (latest), Waveshell VST 5.0.2 (latest).

I had the patience to squeeze it and test it with everything. Here are the results:

Waves plugins that work when you insert but after you save the track you can never load it again because Live 5 crashes on start. And the same happens with tracks made on Live 4.1.4 with these plugins: Live 5 crashes on start:

AU versions of:
Renassaince Compressor
Metaflanger
L1
L1+
L2
Deesser
Paz
Doppler
Enigma
Maxxbass
Mondomod
Q-Clone
Rverb
S1
Supertap
Trueverb
Ultrapitch

Waves plugins that work (uf!!!):

AU versions of:
Renassaince Equalizer
C1
C4
IDR
Q10

All Waves VST when you open the edit window a big white window shows up. So it's impossible to work.

Other plugins that make or Live 5 crash on start or when it doesn't crash and you save the song you can never load it again because Live 5 crashes on startup:

Arturia CS80

Plugins that freeze Live 5, the CPU meter goes to 0% and it's impossible to hit play:

Spectrasonics Stylus
Spectrasonics Atmosphere
Spectrasonics Trilogy
IK Sonik Synth 2

Other plugins that open a big white window:

Arturia Moog Modular

Loaded Live 4.1.4 and everything was OK. So it really is a Live 5.0.1 problem.

So, Ableton guys, sorry for bugging you guys. But, please!!!!! We need 5.0.2 or 5.0.3 asap!!!!!

Sorry for being anxious.

I've been working with Live 5.01 all the time since I bought it. And if this is fixed it will make things a lot easier.

But I repeat: it's the greatest music software on Earth today.
