It is a rare bug because we changed the location of the config file. What version of Alchemy are you using?
Peace,
Andy.
Alchemy

Re: Alchemy
I ran this but it did not fix the scrolling issue. what did I do wrong? How do I update Alchemy? Perhaps I have it in wrong folder? Alchemy works in Live, but the updates wont install.ZenPunkHippy wrote:The scrolling problem should be fixed in v1.50.1. You can download a release candidate from your account now. Expand the "Alchemy" section by clicking '+'. The builds are labelled:
Alchemy Plugin v1.50.1 - RC 1 (Mac)
Alchemy Plugin v1.50.1 - RC 1 (Windows)
It is not necessary to download and install the content for this update. Just download and run the installer.
Peace,
Andy.
EDIT: it worked. lol

Re: Alchemy
Upon reading about the Glue Compressor by Cytomic which is now included in Live 9, I came across a nice conversation about their involvement in the improved filter of Alchemy. Which might be interesting for people who haven't notice about it. It's going to be even more wonderful, if they apply the new DROP Resonant filter in Alchemy or doing the Ableton version as well.
Sourceandy_cytomic wrote:I helped Camel fix the filters in Alchemy, but the design and analog modelling was done by Antti Huovilainen and not Cytomic. There were some implementation problems which meant Camel had to clip the inputs to the filters to keep them stable. My brief was to fix the filters so they could remove the input clip, but preserve the original sound as much as possible to maintain patch compatibility, and also be as efficient on cpu as possible. If I was involved in the design process from the beginning the outcome would be different to what is there now. But, the tone has been improved, and the cpu use reduced, and they are stable, so it's a big win for all Alchemy users, which includes me. Part of the reason I wanted to help out was because I wanted the filters improved for my own usesopulurn wrote:"Alchemy 1.25 is now available to download from your support account. This update features enhanced analog modelled filters by modelling experts Cytomic, an additional skin by biolabs and support for remote control with Alchemy Mobile."
If you are interested in the best analog modeled filters I have designed thus far that are currently for sale in a product they are in Synth Squad, which I did for FXpansion. The filters in The Drop are a completely new algorithm that offers much better results, but at the cost of more cpu. These new algorithms are much closer to analog filters since they have instantaneous feedback, and handle fast modulation very smoothly.

Re: Alchemy
Agreed, I haven't bought the "pro" app version yet but that's actually a huge reason I got Alchemy, it ties in as a controller for the desktop version! So you get all that preset morphing on your own sounds as well as the huge library in a way that integrates into live performance!
Re: Alchemy
I have the Pro version and 3 or 4 of the additional packs, I have to say they are all really well done. The morphing really goes a long way to letting you add variety to the stock sounds, not to mention movement.

Re: Alchemy
Yeah like I mentioned, I remember looking at Alchemy when it came out and giving it a pass, the filters were week and the interface meh! The latest version has great sounding filters and a great interface. The iOS app is total icing, especially since it serves double duty as a synth unto itself! If you don't already own Alchemy Tarekith, it's well worth it. Although the pragmatist in me says wait until Alchemy 2 sometime this year to come out.
In the last couple months I've added some amazing synths to my setup, (Alchemy, Machfive 3, PolyKB, Synthix) definitely time to get busy writing!

Hi Andy,
What i really like to see is to be able to browse through the categories and presets with the right, left, up, down arrow keys on the keyboard of my laptop. Is that possible?

Re: Alchemy
Thanks for the kind words everyone!
Note: it will only work when the last mouse click was in the preset browser window.
The left right keys will jump one full page at a time. We chose to do it this way be cause we think it's better to set up the browser with the desired preset attributes first, then check out the sounds in the browser list.
Peace,
Andy.
Preset browsing using the arrow keys works in some hosts but not others. It is a technical issue related to the plugin framework we use. Are you on Mac or Windows? The VST works in Live 32-bit and 64-bit on Windows. It does not work with the 32-bit VST in Live on Mac, the 64-bit version is good. The AU version works in both.JAMM wrote:What i really like to see is to be able to browse through the categories and presets with the right, left, up, down arrow keys on the keyboard of my laptop. Hi Andy,
Thanks for the fast reply. I,m on a mac.
AU works! the arrow keys do not work in the categories but in the presets seems to work fine.
There is no 64 bit version for mac? but the AU version will work for me;)
Cheers, Jamm
