scrub through preview with warping off.

Post by friend_kami » Thu Aug 30, 2012 1:57 pm

not sure about you, but i have set my live to never warp automatically. this is great for some stuff, but when it comes to previewing samples, it's pretty much horrible because you can't scrub through your preview. this isn't really a problem with small samples, but coming home from a day of field recording having some 100's of 2-minute long samples it can become quite the hassle. :/

so, i would like to have the ability to scrub through previews in the browser when warp automatically is set to off.

+1 I have this problem too.

but as a workaround... when you stop the playback in live and preview a sample (field recording for example) it's played back in it's own tempo and therefore no time stretching will occur. let me know if it works for you.

+1 please.

Some way of scrubbing through longer samples (such as builds or full tracks) would be better then having to sit there waiting for it to play through. Doesn't have to be precise, just to get a rough idea of what happens later in the sample.

Also, having a volume adjust next to the pane would be handy as the other one is on the opposite side of the screen.
Thanks in advance.

But then you would have two controls for the same thing (cueing volume). Just midi map it on your default set, or use SelectedTrackControl, and where it is on the screen would not matter.

Interesting, I shall look into SelectedTrackControl, thanks.
