I read it. Doesn't cover all that I'm talking about, though.

Also, what about renaming anything in 'Categories'...is that possible?

Or how about just deleting those sub-folders all together? Say I wanted to delete 'Drums' so it doesn't even show up anymore...is that possible?
What You say in the quote above is exactly what that thread talks about...

Seems like everything talked about in that thread is in regards to Push. Even the tutorials posted were tutorials for Push. I don't have Push. :?

YES YOU CAN !

But actually "drums" is a categorie of the refining search it's not really a folder place on your hard disk...
It's all about the difference of those categories and the user lib.
DRUMS = User lib > Presets > Instruments > Drumrack (for example)
but it contains also the drums sound of collision, operator....

Here's what you do.
-You go to drums
-You Select a drum kit (let's say latin percussion KIT something) it recalls it on the track.
-Hit the "save button" in the plugin in TA-DAAit takes you to the place in USER LIBRARY it would actually save a new LATIN PERCUSSION KIT.
-All you have to do is to save your own sounds and Drums in the user Library, next time it will show in "drums". You can then drag and drop around and organise new folder also.

:D

Yes you can get your own stuff to show up in Sounds etc. Create a folder in your User Library with a suitable name and make sure your preset is directly in it. A suitable name is one like Bass, which is in Live's list. Details here

oups the answer is here already

OK. Cool. Seems as though some of the things I've asked about are possible. :)

But what about just outright deleting folders and their contents? That's something I would definitely love to do.(Unless this has already been done and I missed it somewhere?)

I would love to make it so that 'Categories' only contains 'Instruments', 'Audio Effects', 'MIDI Effects', 'Max for Live' & 'Plug-ins'.

Best way to explain it so far.

People are getting focused on categories.

I think there are Different cases when working with live.

1.You know what you're looking for but you don't know where it is. (Pianolike instru, drumkits, banjo, flute ...whatever)
>>> You make a search then you refine your search via the categories (or not).
2. You Know where is what you're looking for without a clue of the name. > You go trough the browser via the user lib and go trough the hierarchy folder
3.you don't know what your looking for, use the swap behavior and go trough categories until you find something that you'd like to work with.

The real drag of the search engine for me is that it doesn't reference the name of the folder. So I can't search for -I.E- "flatpack" folder... So it's hard to keep organized.
I personally prefer not to go trough search engine and just browse the user lib. +save in places some important folders where you have your own presets...
