having trouble installing suite 9 upgrade

You have to install Visual C ++ 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2012, without 2012 it will not work.

Ableton live 9 is developed with 2010 and 2012, so 2008 is not as much relevant.

Go to the microsoft site, download and install, then it will work. You don't have to reinstall Ableton live 9 before..

OK, so I got the 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2012 C++ file dealies install and still nothing.

I finally got an email back from Ableton tech support. They suggested re-starting Ableton as per the instructions here: https://www.ableton.com/en/articles/reset-live/

Only problem is, when I go to my Windows 7 User\[username]\AppData\Roaming there is no Ableton folder listed!

Did I get a crap Disk?
