default velocity when clicking in notes

Post by five_magics » Mon May 13, 2013 8:29 pm

Hi all,

I'm sorry for this noob question please bear with me
When I click in notes to make a midi patern they sometimes come out by default at level 100 and sometimes at 75...
how do I control the default velocity level when adding notes?

Hold a note as you make a new one, drag up or down to preferred velocity.

When you make your next note, it should be at the velocity you've left off on.

Default I think is 100. But of you are say, drawing accents, you'd do one, then filling out ghost notes, you might do another.

It also depends on the settings of the sound you are making notes for. Some sounds are very sensitive to velocity, while others have no difference.

Plus, some people just draw the notes in, and then adjust the velocity bars on the bottom.

I would recommend just using it a lot and finding your own preference.

you can change the start velocity on the keyboard by pressing "C" or "V".
