Why are samples quieter in the browser?
Why are samples quieter in the browser?
I have all volumes set at 0db - browser preview, clips, arrangement tracks, master, etc., but my samples are much quieter in the browser. They get louder(go to normal volume, that is) once they're drug into session or arrangement view.

turn your cue level up homey!! (on your master track, that blue dial with the headphones)
Re: Why are samples quieter in the browser?
Won't that distort the sound?eddiex wrote:turn your cue level up homey!! (on your master track, that blue dial with the headphones)
Re: Why are samples quieter in the browser?
nah, i just bring mine up in the mix, like it's just another track. (i'm not cranking all of my tracks out at 0db though) you're just previewing a sample anyways....it's not a big deal if you do distort a bit. your monitors/headphones/ears might not like it...but that level isn't critical.

just so we're straight, im talking about turning up the blue macro in the bottom right corner of this pic. under "cue"
Re: Why are samples quieter in the browser?
Previewed samples also don't travel through the same effect/EQ routing. I'm pretty sure they are raw but I may be mistaken.

Okie dokie. I'll have to crank up that volume then.eddiex wrote:nah, i just bring mine up in the mix, like it's just another track. Yup. I'm talking about raw sample in the browser vs. raw sample in Live. The browser volume is lower. Idk why.Logic8807 wrote:Previewed samples also don't travel through the same effect/EQ routing. I'm pretty sure they are raw but I may be mistaken.
