Disk Full message???

Live 5.0.1.

When I try to record a new audio track I keep getting this message: "Disk space low, recording will stop in 60 seconds." Then, in about 3 seconds I get: "Disk full, recording has been stoped." I have 10GB free space on the hard drive the program is on and 36GB free space on the hard drive that I use for the audio files only. I don't understand why it says Disk Full

Any help, thoughts or ideas would be greatly apprieciated.

maybe your temp folder is full. run a diskcleanup if you have windows. or get Diskeeper to expand the MFT.

I tried the cleanup, no results. I tried resizing the folder and creating a new one also

Any other thoughts or suggestions?

I recreated the same thing I was trying to do in Live 4 and it works fine.

Seams to be a Live 5 glitch like maybe I have a setting wrong or something.

I dont know what the problem is here but I want to mention something. I remember a post over at GearSlutz with someone saying a very similiar thing. Someone told the guy to back up his stuff his immediately. He didnt, and the drive crashed on him and he lost all his data. Another point that came out o fthat thread was some people mentioned they nearly filled up their drive to the maximum an dhad a big HD crash. A few poeple came on and sai dthat whenever their drive has only 19gb left its time to back up everything. I do this myself now.

Im not saying this will happen to you, but just in case its an idea to back up.

I have a 20GB HD (18.6 usable space) the program is on with over half of it's space free . The files HD is a 40GB (38.6 usable space) with almost all of it's space free .

I had a friend from work who does the maintenance on the companies computer system check out both HD's and no errors or problems were found. According to the results of the diagnostic tests they are both running at 100% normality.

Live 5 is the only one that has the problem. Version 2 and all version 4's work just fine.
