in the context of what we were actually talking about my point was these soldiers who went to Iraq thinking they were the good guys received a rude shock and came back so disillusioned they are shooting themselves at 22 a day. Jack McCock was talking about civil war and I was saying I'm not sure they'd be so easily duped against their own people with this painful memory of Iraq so recent. Maybe that's an overly optimistic view though.
But soon they will have robot soldiers and then we are all fucked. Right now they are thinking "how do we stop these goddamn hippy dogooder whistleblowers? How about we use robots, they don't answer back". They've started with the drones, but even drone operators are quitting in disgust.
Any luck at the last the bankers will actually need to operate them by themselves and eventually they will wither up and die because the rest of the world will refuse to bring them food and cut off their power. That would be fitting karma considering the millions of people dead at their hands from starvation and deprivation.
