Bit of an odd one here, I'm using Live 4 & 5 with an echo indigo DJ on windows xp pro and i'm having the same problem with both, but it happens more often with 5.
For no apparent reason, the current clip with shift down in pitch, although the tempo remains constant. Sometimes it will do it when I preview a clip, sometimes dropping a clip into the session view from the explorer in is enough to do it.
I can only reset it by going into the echo asio control panel and oking the settings (as if to re-init the card). Sometimes that doesn't shift it and I have to reboot. Odd huh?
Anyone else come across this? I'm thinking it could be faulty hardware, but I'm not too sure…
James.

Make sure you have Windows Sounds disabled, this happens a lot when Windows makes it's little dings and bleeps. Many times the windows samples are at a different sample rate than your audio app, which can cause the pitchshifting you hear.

Fixed it!
In the echo control panel I've locked the sample rate at 44.1k, i think before ableton was kicking out at 44.1k and the soundcard was working at 48k.
Just need to sort the crackle in the headphones next.
