isnt it always funny that Mac users somehow have a better sense of Irony than PC users.

Like Hambone said its a BOX.

Just one is a lot faster, cheaper than the other

So, obviously, there ARE some happy, crash-free PC users on this forum. That being said, if Mith Heeler is having issues, I bet it has less to do with a motherboard issue than a potential virus/driver issue. My PC never had a virus, so I ain't bias, just stating the obvious. And I doubt Meth Heelur is hitting a wall, since we all know that PCs outperform Macs in Live and I aint crashed or hit a wall on my Mac... so...

Either he/she/it is running old drivers thet he/she/it doesn't know about, or it is a virus... and if it was a virus, Math Holler would be having crashes regardless of whether Live was running or not.

So, if The Allknowing, never Pomp-us, well-read, ever-so-carefully researched, uber-organized, better-informed and correctly-spelled Myth Healer DID know how deductive reasoning worked, the genious would'nt need to organize the forums in order to figure out why he couldn't make his Live 5 worrk ggooodd.

Reinstall your XP and update your drivers, Einstein.

Good luck.

:P
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.

I use a PC laptop for speed, but have modified it by cutting a huge glowing hole in the shape of an Intel logo into the lid - so now people think I have a next-gen MacIntel laptop months before everyone else ... I am so cool!

can I have my advanced trolling certificate now please.

I didn't read all of the thread.
just here to say that I am very happy with live5.
had 4 hours of gigs with a lot of songs made in live5.
using almost all of the new features...
at least as stable as my relationship ;-)
and I was very lucky to could have payed it in US$ instead of €.
it's 25% cheaper...
thank you!

Actually if you check your dictionary :
"To cause to move or proceed slowly; delay or impede."

What do you think happens to your music related productivity when you get into arguments on bulletin boards?

I had a party at my house over the weekend, and we used Ableton along with turntables and CD players....

We recorded 18 hours of non-stop music, and Ableton never had so much as a glitch.

I'm running a PC laptop.... I've never had a computer virus in my life.... I've never had a Windows "Blue Screen of Death" in my life..... I've never even had a hard drive go bad on me in my life.

I consider Ableton Live on a PC to be perfectly safe to use in a live performance.

quandry wrote: The whole virus talk is just stupid--do you have a pc, and if so, how did you manage to get yourself a virus with all of the availible software? Its silly, many people use their computers on the net all the time and don't get viruses, myself included (three years virus free).
Or so you might think...
