Komplete 9
I have a simple little question here about Komplete 9. Would I be better off Buying it, or just buying the tools that are included individually as I need them, such as Massive I know it is included. I just don't know that I would use everything that is included. I know its a better deal to buy complete.

Asked and answered?
Its a no brainer. Buy it.
Enjoy the exploration.

Re: Komplete 9
it may be economically better to buy it all at once but...
when you have that much choice you tend to put off decisions and in the long run little or nothing ever gets done
the less you have the more you'll finish

Re: Komplete 9
You don't have to install everything that comes with Komplete 9. It will ask you what you want to install and you can check what you think you need for the time and install the rest if you think you need more effect, sounds or instruments later.

Re: Komplete 9
If you start pricing parts separately you will soon see it is all priced to make the Komplete package look attractive.
Consider it a large toolbox. It has loads of ideas waiting to be released but you don't have to use it all at once. I needed pianos and strings initially and dove on Komplete 8 when it was on-sale. I have used loads of the Kontact stuff, Massive, Guitar Rig but haven't even touched some of tyhe other stuff. That is for a rainy day.
I also have Omnisphere and there is so much choice it can get overwhelming but then there are days where I just load it up, randomly pick a preset and start tweaking and find a sound that kicks off another idea. That to me is worth it.

I bought Komplete 2 years ago, every now and then I upgrade to the latest version. Still on 8 but looking forward to 9
I'm very happy with it, Native instruments do great stuff.

Buying Komplete saves you around 80% off what you would pay if you bought them one by one. Reaktor and Kontakt imo making just buying Komplete totally worth it.

Count me in the "No Brainer" just get Komplete 9 camp.BeatinNgrindiN wrote:I have a simple little question here about Komplete 9. 2 Reasons:
1) Guitar Rig 5. I can't think of *anybody* who likes making music with Ableton who wouldn't get something out of Guitar Rig 5. It's fun, and it's useful as hell. I slap a Guitar Rig on probably 1/3 of my tracks either to acheive something, or sometimes just for fun to see what I can do with a sound.
2) Reaktor. *Anybody* who likes synths will like Reaktor. It's always exciting to know that you can dive in and change a synth or even make a synth one day if you are interested in learning - but with the size and scope of the user library... you never have an excuse to be bored ever ever again.
Consider those 2, plus the price of whatever you're planning on buying - and then go buy Komplete. The rest is just gravy. And that's *alot* of gravy.
Re: Komplete 9
Everything above is true. If you think you're going to enjoy at least two of the individual products in the package, get it. Updates are really cheap once a new version is out. For the most part the new versions include everything from the previous one and a few new ones, but there are a few exceptions. For example in 9 it comes with Battery 4, which is actually like a whole new drum program. Completely new interface, and from what I've found on the forums, a completely different set of drumkits.
There was also a virtual analog synth plugin in one of the older versions of Komplete that they discontinued, and the replacement is simply a Kontakt (sample-based) instrument. But as a whole it's great value for money. There's usually a discount once or twice per year, and upgrading from the previous one is very much worth it then. But if you can wait a year or two, you can still go from as old as Komplete 2 to the latest, so skipping a version usually will be even cheaper.
I've gone through 7 to 8, and I'm probably picking up 9 (just waiting to see if they have their yearly sale), even though I'm nowhere near exploring everything. Between Live and Komplete you have a seriously ridiculous number of toys to discover and learn.

I prefer Amplitube over Guitar Rig. Is it useful? Sure but imo Amplitube sounds betterOo.jason.oO wrote:Count me in the "No Brainer" just get Komplete 9 camp.BeatinNgrindiN wrote:I have a simple little question here about Komplete 9. Have you tried Guitar Rig 5 vs. older versions of GR? For sound quality I have to say that to my ears my Line 6 Podfarm (I got the 'Gold Bundle' a long time ago on a promo DI box) beats them all - but Guitar Rig is way more versatile, fun to use, and the newer amp/effect models in Guitar Rig Version 4 and again in version 5 have definitely stepped up sound quality *way* over and above the sound of Guitar Rig 3. It's also *way* less of a sound hog than the Line 6 plugin. Not sure how it stacks up that way or sound wise vs. the current version of Amplitube. I just remember back when I initially bought GR that I wasn't a huge fan of the Amplitube sounds either. But things have probably changed there too.
I *can* say that GR is definitely alot better sounding and therefore more useful than it used to be!

Re: Komplete 9
Only version of GR I have owned is 5. Its a good plug in. I like Amplitube because of the color. To me GR is a lot more transparent and modern sounding which is cool too. I am admittedly an IK fanboy too but I would be lying if I said GR wasn't good.Oo.jason.oO wrote:Fair enough.kevwestbeats wrote: I prefer Amplitube over Guitar Rig. Is it useful? Re: Komplete 9
Get the package. Find a place that has one of them spread out payment things if you don't have the dough up front.
I'm tellin' ya. You know how it works.... aw, I'll just buy this ONE thing. Then you'll want to buy the another NI synth, then another. You can't eat just one. The package'll be a whole lot cheaper in the long run.
OTOH, maybe the instruments are only worth like $25 each and you're really getting hosed by buying each separately... like criminally price gouged hosed

Re: Komplete 9
The key to not being overwhelmed with NI stuff price wise is to skip a few versions of Komplete when you can. I went from 6 to 9; nothing was necessary to me until a few things required Kontakt 5.
Re: Komplete 9
Yeah, skip them unless it's really worth it to you. I got Komplete 7 as a sidegrade, so the initial expense was really small for me. K8 had Kontakt 5, and at the time the sale price for this upgrade was the same price as a Kontakt upgrade! K9 is tempting because it adds just enough products to be worth it (7 new products), and if there's a sale I won't be able to resist. But I don't *need* it because of all the contents you already get in the earlier boxes.
