Yo.

Day 8. Is it just me or is this getting harder?

Again, it is not the physical withdrawl feelings. Those left after day 3. It is just the (seemingly) never ending "why i should/need/want to/deverver to etc. smoke a cigarette thoughts.

They are getting to me. I am seriously considering throwing in the towell.

When will it end....

You wanna give in?

Think of all the things you could get back:

Sexy brown teeth and bad breath
Attractive yellow fingers
Athletic shortness of breath
Greyish, wasted skin
Wasted money
Shit congealing in your lungs and arteries
A better chance of contracting diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, gallbladder problems and everyone's favorite, cancer

If you think it's worth it, go for it!

Smutek - consider yourself being a domino brick. If you fall, others may fall...
I'm going to the full week border here and I really want you to be here with me.
I eat and drink more and am getting happier!

I gave up smoking 2 years ago and after smoking for 10 years. After the initial first week or so it just got easier and easier, now I never think about having a smoke, just keep telling that little voice that says 'go on just a puff' NO and after a little while that little voice will fade away as it realises your not listening to it anymore.

Beware of the reefers with tobaco ! No, a little puff will not be ok. You can do it guys and yes, it will definately be worth it.

This is amazing. Keep strong folks. You won't regret it. Or rather you will regret it if you get too tempted... don't listen to the little voices.

I like the thought of this:

What if those last five years of your life were supposed to be the best years of your life?

An interesting evening.
I was to a pizza/pub place nearby.
A 14 y boy was there with some friends. It was 10.30 PM. The boy lit a cig. Two "adults" around us talled him he should know he was to young to be at this place and smoking.
I talked to him, talled him about my smoking years. Then gave some aniseed to him and his friends, I chew them to ease the abstinence.
The grown ups got to me, telling me I did not take my responsability as adult.
I tried to say I was respecting the kid. No, I was not they said.
Well, the air went bad and I left. The kid and his friends too.
Now, great moment: The kid took my hand! He said: Sorry to have ruined your evening. I said: No way, thank you for being here, you helped me see what respect may be like.
His hand in mine was the ultimate credit up to date. I could cry...

Conny, you are the lead domino. I smoked today. :(

However, I am starting over at day 1.

This is what happened. All day at work I thought about smoking and I decided that I was really not ready to quit. Well, I thought about a lot of stuff but long story short I convinced myself to go and start smoking again.

On the way home I stopped at a gas station to buy a pack. Ofcourse, there was a minimum purchase of $5.00 for debit card purchases so I bought 2 packs.

I jumped in the car, opened them and lit up.

I also called my wife (who quit a week before me) and told her I was throwing in the towell. She was dissapointed.

As for the cigarette, it was nothing like I remembered it just 8 days ago.

It tasted so f%cking foul. I thought maybe they were stale so I smelled an un-lit one and they were fresh as could be. They really just tasted terrible.

So.........

I smoked the entire first cigarette and decided I just needed to force myself to enjoy them (yes I really thought that) so about 5 minutes later I lit the second. I didn't even get half way through it and I had to put it out.

I tried to smoke another one near the end of my commute and the same thing, only now my lungs were hurting and I had a head ache. I got maybe 1/3 of the way into it and threw it out the window.

So I decided to get rid of them and start over. I called the wife and informed her I was going to get rid of the cigarettes and was now back on the wagon. Then I took them next door and gave them to my neighbor.

Before I gave them away I tried to smoke "the last one" but again, it just made me sick and I threw it down after three drags.

So, I am restarting my cigarette clean time effective now.

I don't know. Maybe Ijust needed to experience that and get it out of my system. Whatever, it is what it is. After a brief slip I am back on the wagon.
