bring it back - navigation
yes, push is onstage, but keyboard shortcuts of alt+cursors to navigate between browser, clip space and detail view have not been given a different, more essential function.
pls bring it back.

Re: bring it back - navigation
then something must be different on my DAW. I have tried the combinations alt+digit at first, because this was first that to occured to me after your post, but it does not work that way.
then I thought it was that your app converts keys to midi. now, if not, how do you do the trick? what needs to reach ableton to make it switch focus?

I am not into having to buy and configure some 3rd party program to get this function.

I see, thanks for putting in your time. I am just so reluctant to buying any other apps when I just thru-down for the L9 update. Even if it is inexpensive.funken wrote: It costs £13.80. It takes me about 2 minutes to make a shortcut like that. I've done all the hard work, testing it, writing a tutorial, getting a discount for you.

I hate to bring up an old topic, but is there any way of focusing on the browser in Live WITHOUT iKey or similar app?
My main music system is on Windows so I can't run Ikey.

Use a keyboard with macro keys

Thanks. And to focus on Track? E.g. when I am focused on a device or a clip?Funk N. Furter wrote:To focus on the browser you can use ?F ?, command F and then down arrow.
I have SelectedTrackControl set up which is great for specific actions (e.g. adjusting volumes, recording into a slot, selecting previous or next slot etc... But Selecting the track in the first place still needs the mouse. Unless there's a keyboard command which I don't know about?

Re: bring it back - navigation
Hmmm.
Selected Track Control does not do it. I can use CC 8 value on my MIDI controller to select the track by value - but it does not FOCUS on the track.
Re your reference the control and the arrow keys, are you referring to the Kimidi extension for Selected Track Control?
Kimidi is available only for Mac.
And anyway I have a concern about Kimid: a lot of the key combinations I see on the documentation are already assigned in Live.
I have downloaded Autohotkeys and am using it at the moment.
It sort of works. It is hit and miss.

Re: bring it back - navigation
What I want is to be able to jump back to focus on the currently selected track from detail / clip / device focus.Funk N. Furter wrote:

What I have to do in Autohotkey is guess where a good place would be for the mouse to land, note down the screen co-ordinates, and then record the macro.
Sometimes it lands on the right track; but if (1) browser is open (2) other tracks are unfolded etc etc it will land next door to the right track.
So it sort of works, in a hacky, kludgy way.

It does not work. Is there a working way?Funk N. Furter wrote:Shortcut of the day: alt 1 = focus in Browser, alt 2 = focus on Detail View, alt 3 = focus in main Session or Arrange View, alt 4 = focus in Master Track

Re: bring it back - navigation
iKey is for apple. I have autohotkey ahk.
I know a workaround, i.e. a key can trigger a mouse click somewhere in the screen. but this is not the same as the functionality in live 8, which btw could also be utilized with ahk, where alt plus arrows navigated throught the fields like browser, clip matrix, scene triggers and the bottom part.
