Being able to create your own kits certainly helps it go a long way towards getting past the rock genre it at first seems geared towards, though I'm not sure it's something I want to do everytime I need some drums "real quick".
Would be cool to see them release some newer club type sounds for it.
I'm sure they'll probably add more genres, drummers, and drum sets in the future.
I highly recommend watching the MacProVideo tutorial on Drummer if you have access. A description of what it does really doesn’t do justice to its power and flexibility. I think a lot of people are going to write it off without doing any real diving. Not saying you would do that.
One tut covers how to show it where you want a fill and with the turn of dial tell it how short and subtle or long and complex you want it to be. Mind blown.
I stopped watching the tuts just before the one that was going to show how to extract MIDI out of Drummer. So I’m not sure how that works or to what extent yet.
