I seen some guys at the park today playing basketball, I should have asked them the same thing.
Now that I think about it, my grandpa paints but has never made money from it, I should bring that to his attention. I'm sure he could use an unexpected, and undeserved hit to the balls.

While I'm at it, I seen some people at the pool today swimming, I bet none of them assholes have won any medals.
Well, now I really know I like you! (Not that you need me to or anything) ...as my teenage daughter would say "You got Sass!" (that's good, I think) :D

Haven't watched the Drummer vids, but I've been waiting for a Mac alternative to Jamstix for years... that plugin blew my mind at the time as 'live' AI drums but its weird UI/my transition to Mac ruled it out.

This would be a no-brainer for me if it offered a similar thing.

Let us know how that goes - I'm thinking of doing the same thing (you cut me NI, you cut me deep). Only thing stopping me is my damn 250GB SSD.

So are Drummer's MIDI files mapped per GM? Being able to drop them onto Battery 4 kits or Urban Cookbook in B4 would be very nice indeed.

Yup. That's the default but it gives you other options like Roland vdrum mapping.

beats me wrote:Logic now only uses 64 bit plugins, another thing I couldn’t give less of a shit about until now. It scanned my plugins and disabled the plugins that aren’t 64, but after it did that I almost feel like it did me a favor because all my go to plugins are still there and the ones I stopped using years ago aren’t. It’s a lot cleaner now. I may get reminded at some point about some disabled plugin I want to use again but that will force me to upgrade to the most current version first.

So I opened the last set I did in Logic 9 and I used Alchemy and Predator which I didn’t have the 64 bit versions installed yet. So it disabled the tracks but informed me which plugins were disabled. So I went to developer sites and got the most current versions. The set works fine now. Thanks Apple for forcing me to do that!
There’s probably some other improvements in the plugs that are more than just 64 bit. I hadn’t updated those plugs in ages.

I wonder if Apple is forcing users to have Mountain Lion not because previous OS’s can’t handle it but because they don’t want to be bothered supporting previous OS’s. The next OS is going to drop in the next couple months.

In other news I’m going to retire my Mackie MCU (again) because the iPad app covers my basic needs and that frees up a ton of desk space. I just wish there was a big jog wheel for scrolling and scrubbing and some sliders or buttons to adjust the track sizes. It would be sweet if you could run multiple iPads so you could have 8 tracks on one iPad and the next 8 on the iPad next to it. 8O

But they aren't even audio waveforms. More like some weird mix between a waveform and MIDI events represented by geometric shapes. :?

Another new proprietary file format that only Apple hardware and software can read. :x

that's pretty damn cool right there.

the software not only tells you to RTFM, but it finds the page for you. much better than the Live forum. :P

And what a great way to learn. There's all sorts of shit on an interface that you don’t know what it is because it hasn’t been something you needed. You might find out about a great feature or tool you would use but never even thought of. And the manual is way more informative (and less distracting) than a little summary bubble on the computer monitor.

Next level, go to something on the manual on the iPad and watch the computer perform whatever the description and steps are as you tap on the text. 8O That would be dope.

You watch, the next new "step/core" sensation will be based entirely on this as a technique.

Ive better keep his skeuomorphism hating paws off the Logic control app. I want my virtual mixer to look like a hardware mixer, not like a patent filing schematic diagram. :x

One slight annoyance that I've noticed when using Logic Pro X on an 11" MacBook Air is that the header above the plugin windows is so large that things like Omnisphere and Trilian spill off the bottom of the screen slightly and if you try to go into full screen mode on Logic to combat this then the top of the Logic window disappears off the top of the screen....

Apple do know that they make an 11" MacBook Air right?
