Space bar toggle

Post by elektrovert » Tue Aug 02, 2005 1:44 pm

Hi All,
I remember reading a thread about the keyboard space bar starting and stopping the live sets, can't seem to find it now though.
Just wondering is it possible to turn this function off?
I can't find anything in the manual (Live 4).
I find I keep stopping my sets when I accidently hit the space bar.

It'd be nice to know that's not gonna happen when I do a gig. :D

Cheers!

If you don't use external sync, then try pressing play and then activating the external sync button...

...now try pressing the space bar...

I've written a small program to disable the spacebar....
Email me and I'll send it, I've shutdown my servers so can't host it atm.

Subject: [NOSPAM] spacebar

Also another hint I've read, Shift + Space starts from the point it was
stopped rather then the start.

A big fan of Mr yellow's lil app here. Use it almost all the time when I gig. Almost, because of course when I forgot last night, I managed to hit the spacebar in the middle of a tweaked-out version of Lionel Richie's "Easy"--dammit! Thanks again, Ben--very handy and reliable (when I remember to use it).

Yeah, but the man was doing Lionel Richie's "Easy". You shouldn't push your luck that far... 8O

apparently you haven't heard our version of Easy. Its all-live, all from scratch, and the crowd eats that shizz up--you gots to keep the people happy, and throw them a cover once and awhile in the midst of 85% original tunes--it kind of sucks, but people undoubtedly respond more to songs they know, its simple human nature. Thus, the few covers we do always get the most crowd response. Plus, the original version of Easy most definitely has a hot guitar solo that my guitarist can cop and then some (then I loop it in live and scrub the crap out of it).
