I hear ya. I can tweak the sound of a crap original written by anyone else into something *rather* good. But starting from scratch on my own piece, I get lost with all the options on my bontempi.kabuki wrote:I don't make music. I DJ others and call it mine.![]()
Actually, I'm more of an "engineer". I can spot what makes a track (by someone else) feel unfinished/flat/etc and offer a fix. Create a noise or tone. Write a SIMPLE melody. Tweek a beat.
But not write my own tunes. It usually takes me a year to finish a track, only to listen to it a few weeks later just to hate it again. But I can never figure out how to fix it. Ironic.
F*** music.
One thing that sometimes works is when I find a track on an old minidisc or casette that I wrote myself in the late 90s etc. I can often remix that into something better; and it is technically 100% my own.
Weird innit.
I guess I have a relatively high post count - so here's one that was chosen on the basis of being the lowest filesize mp3 I saw in my 'needs mastering' folder
MP3 - the missing packet
enjoy some 9/4 music why doncha!

I have a few actually (all jams) Naptown Renegade is by far my favorite though - it's really old but it blows up super hard no doubt
I got this one track on Dekab - it's like him and three other super jams
funny because it's got a fake Soma label - good stuff
AdamJay knows a thing or two about techno no doubt

DJ Retard, I think "Kaiser" has you on this, man. Of all folks on here, he is and has been putting out proper vinyl well before this forum. I don't think he owes anyone proof that he can walk the walk.
Unless, of course, Kaiser is someone other than Adam Jay?!?
Anyways, how about your work? Can we hear some?

What do you mean kaiser has me on this?
I posted a tune recently. The link was removed as a request from the label for obvious reasons.
I might post something else. I think I need a good slagging off from Kaiser or his new alais.
In keyzers words
"No label would ever sign that rubbish"
It was signed immediately to the first label it was sent to
yes and 22 of those posts were on my thread. It was personal from the word go on his side.leisuremuffin wrote:I didn't say you were 16bit. I said 16bit was a douche.
