i didnt get that total recorder could do what i wanted... do you mind explaining how to use the buffered recording feature.. which vers is it in?

AFAIK I have the latest version of total recorder (5?) but all of the ones I have had buffer the audio so that if you hve it running it is buffering everything that goes to the sound card so that if you press record it gets it straight away - but look in the manual I'm pretty sure it will do what you're asking - the default pre-record buffer is normally 15 or 30 seconds

I asked the question some weeks ago and people advised "DVD audio extractor" cheap or for free, dont remember, there must be more of such for mac or pc. Do search on this forum
I make notes while watching movies ( became a habit by now, always have my little black book while watching). Then extract the chapters I like ( notes are reference only, I audition ). Though you can extract as stereo I go for 6 channles (can be extracted as six separate- easy to open in Live then but I extract as multi and then split it in Cubase because it is better program for the purpose).
It is great because you can separate and take exactly what you want without the rest, saves you editing.
Dont remember who gave me this tip but Gods bless him, I use it almost daily, without it it wouldnt be even worth to do my remixes (Bollywood mostly), would cost too much time.
