I should have clarified. ECC ram should be used for MASSIVE projects such as 50 tracks, 250 voices (Sampling), and syncing it with 2K video, etc.
If you are doing generic electronic music, most 8 GB ram Mfr sticks will work, also the Carsair Ram is good ram, but also consider Kingston LOVO ram if possible as Kingston brand RAM has the lowest temp/cooling to performance ratio and RAM can get VERY VERY hot if you do lots of sampling.
