Ableton: Thanks for letting us hate on you

Post by beats me » Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:44 pm

What other company owned forum lets you freely hate on their product while hoping a competitor product will crush them into the dirt? At best they welcome the open concerns and discussion. At worst they have a high tolerance for whiners. Either way, thanks!

Well presumably they value knowing about the user experience and learning from it. Censoring it might curtail some of that frank feedback. That said, haters could grow up and learn to talk about the product with more respect for the people behind it. We're all human, we all have feelings.

People don't see the programmers and artists as individuals. They just see it as a corporation. It's unfortunate...yet they still use the product faithfully.

Yeah, but to be fair, I think they've changed a thread title or two.

Like what, Hervé? I'd like to know about other useful Ableton discussion forums, doesn't have to be English.

strange title, i was expecting some really needy angery nerds on here or something!

yeh i get your point. its all part of product development anyway to get direct feedback to develop the product, it makes sense for everyone.

There’s a difference between civilized thought out criticism and “Fuck you Ableton!” Ableton allows the whole spectrum on the forum.

Image Line. The developers also are there to take the heat. Probably because they communicate with their users there is little hostility.

Really? It's been YEARs since I've been to that forum but it was BRUTALLY snobbish from the staff. I assumed it was the same because they post on other forums.
