Re: iPad
2 people in China were electrocuted and one died using knockoff iPhone chargers. If that’s not a selling point to buy Apple certified accessories, I don’t know what is.

i blame Apple for not using the USB cable that the rest of the planet uses.
there will be blood.
The reporters that bothered to do further research pointed out that this isn’t uniquely an Apple problem. People have gotten electrocuted before charging phones by other manufacturers, but hey, that doesn’t get the page views.
This also creates the conundrum of figuring out the distinction between crap made in China and cheap crap made in China.
BTW this is actually old news, maybe a week or so. Apple's stock has actually gone up since then.
Re: iPad
fine then we can blame the voltage in China.
120 V for life baby!!
here in the U.S. children can survive electrocution... i know because when i was in first grade i touched the prongs on the plug to an alarm clock that was half way plugged in... it knocked me on my ass... but didn't really hurt me. i was literally shocked into silence. i didn't say a word to my mom for fear that she would kick my ass for playing with the socket in the first place. i probably don't remember shit else that happened in that year of my life.
on another note; you can pop Black Cats fireworks while holding them without blowing off your thumb and forefinger. i can type. don't believe the hype.

I had a good friend who joined the navy back in the mid 90’s. While on shore leave in Italy he was rummaging around in some bushes, accidently grabbed an unmarked live electric wire and died. I know there’s a certain member of this forum that would find that poetic justice.

Re: iPad
Cloud sync for games is great when it works right. I’ve been playing Riptide 2 (Like Real Racing except with jet skis) on all iPhone, iPad, and iPad Mini and the game is always synced so I don’t have to rebuild my career on each device. I’ve determined the iPad Mini is the sweet spot for playing this type game. The iPad is a little unwieldy for tilt steering and the graphics are too small on the iPhone to see what is ahead at fast speeds.

I recently upgraded from a 4S to a 5, and the most graphically demanding game I have is Angry Birds

A handful of game apps have been released since that came out.
Re: iPad
The SnappyCam app takes 20 high res pictures per second.
At least on the iPhone 5, slightly less on previous models.
But still.
Would be great for you xtreme sports types.
Re: iPad
The music app on my iPad Mini couldn’t find an artist in my music library because I didn’t capitalize one of the letters in the name on the search. REALLY? Not even a "did you mean....?" suggestion. Just said they don't exist.
FFS.
Seriously, REALLY?

The claims of Google's new Motorola phone is getting more praise from Apple fanboys than fandroids.
