Transport probs in Live w/DP3

I am running Live slaved to DP3.1 with Battery as my drum sampler everything works great but the transport from Live. It works with DP3 as the master but when Live is highlighted itstops the audio and the play button will not engage. Iread on the board that Live is controllable both as a master and a slave and should work going both ways. It would be real cool if we could control Dp3 with Live amasing performer based interface. Is this at all possible? Just wanted to add that its nice to belong to such a team of helpful Abletons!

turbobob,

Are you using Live 2.03, DP 3.11 and Battery 1.01?

I am, it works fine for me, Live as Rewire slave. Play and stop appear to operating in Live and DP. (I have it running in the background as I am writing this)

DP can only operate as Rewire Master..

When does your audio stop exactly.

Do you have the output of Live coming in on an Aux track in DP.

I am using the same that you stated, but for some reason when I hilite Live and DP is running the audio stops. The transport in DP3 works Live correctly but Live doesnt seem to have the same feature.When I hilite Battery the midi stops working from my controller. I love this set up and know it will work but it might just be my luck....., ps thanx for all the replies you give to the board, you rock!

I wonder if this is a Freemidi issue. In Freemidi Setup. verify that "FreeMidi Apps Only" is checked. Also (and I think this might be the problem) in DP3 Prefs, make sure "Play in Background" is checked. It sounds like DP is turning off when it's pushed into the background when you select anything in Live.

DP3/Live-transport probs

Wow this is really confusing. I have the audio coming in strong and from DP3 the transport works fine, but when Lives transport.....(play) or #locaters are used it freezes up my powerbook everytime. I have a midisport with OMS2.3.8 and live 2.03-DP3.11. i just cant figure it out?

Very strange.....

Is "run midi in background" checked in the OMS midi setup?

Do you have the latest driver for your Midisport?

Start trashing prefs if needed.....

I trashed the preferences file from Live and started again. I think (ooopppss) the whole key here is to run it on an "aux tk." I think I overlooked that and was running Live back into a regular stereo tk. That has made all the difference in the worl. I have so much work to do now,(rebuilding the sets for Live transport control. When video is used in DP3 with the transport controls from live we now have the loop control over our video clips as well........ :lol: Thanx Harb......any ideas on a leaner extention base setup for a little more juice?
