Polyphony, number of voices in Live Instruments

How do i change the number of voices in, say, Crumar Violin Cello Layer?

Also, in for example ARP explorer, was the instrument handling repetitions just like that, killing the note before when repeating same note?

Go to the sampler violin and then to modulation. At the bottom you'll see voices, there you can change the number of voices. In every Ableton instrument you can do that, try to find it.
