Live 5.01 & Absynth 3.02.011 - Hanging and missing notes

Post by geistfrei » Tue Jul 26, 2005 12:11 pm

Live 5.01 seems to have some major midi problems with
the latest Absynth 3 Version (3.02.011).

There are obvious hanging and missing (very rare) notes.
It is not clearly reproducable to one certain event, although
moving around locators and starting them and scrubing
regularly leads to this.

When just playing a MIDI Clip or the arrangement the hanging
notes appear much less frequent but they are there
nevertheless.

I had no such problems ever in Live 4.1.4.

It is not related to Delay Compensation or the current
CPU-Load.

The hanging and missing notes also appear when
rendering loops and parts of the arrangement.

Please have a look into this and fix this as soon as
possible since it makes Absynth 3 absolutely useless!

I did not experience this problems with other VSTis yet.

Can anyone confirm that?

bye,
geist

No issues with those two on my system, sorry. I know Absynth is getting to be known for stuck notes in any host, so I'm more inclined to think it's an NI issue than an Ableton one. I used to get a lot of stuck notes with the initial 3.00 release of Absynth.

Hi Tarekith,

the strange thing is that the same version of Absynth runs without
any problems in Live 4.1.4. So I think if a special treatment for
Absynth is needed it was there in L4.

I desperately hope there is an easy solution to this, anyone
suggestions what goes wrong here?

thanks for your help!

I'm getting the same problem with Absynth and Live 5. It is making it impossible to render my track...I tried Freezing the track to see if that would work, but again it's the same problem with the missing notes.

I'm trying to work around this now by routing the midi track to an audio track, but the hanging notes is screwing it up.

Try checking Delay Compensation & see if that does it?

I am seeing this problem too. Its driving me crazy. This was not an issue in Live 4.

Got the same problem here. Not so much with long notes and not as frequently as mentioned above but nevertheless it does happen. Big problem when trying to render to disk. Also highly noticeable when using arpeggio effects. No problems in live version 4.1.4 though.

I think its an abysnth problem, because i got hanging notes in live 4 and 5. The native forums are full of unhappy hanging noters as well. God knows when native will come out with an update????
