Launchpad is not behaving like it should

Post by camilomusic71 » Sat Aug 24, 2013 11:14 pm

For a couple of hours already I've been unsuccessfully trying to get my Launchpad to work with Live like it's supposed to. It's always worked fine, but ever since I opened Cubase and set it up to receive MIDI signals from my controllers, it's been behaving like a control surface that only sends note signals to Live. The lights won't light up and it doesn't display any of the functions it should have, I can't launch clips nor can I navigate to the mixer section. or the user 1 and 2 modes. I can tell the device is not like, broken or anything, since both DAWs are recieving MIDI information from it. I opened Automap and the lights light up just fine.

I tried reselecting the Launchpad as a control surface in the MIDI Sync section, tried reconfiguring it using Automap and also tried uninstalling and installing the proper drivers, but nothing seems to be able to get the Launchpad to understand what it has to do. Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Restart the computer.

Open Automap. Make sure the LP is being recognized, it'll turn red probably.
(I do this to make sure the Launchpad is going to be recognized when I open other things. For some reason, I'd I don't do it, programs sometimes ignore my Launchpad).

Open Live and double check that it is set correctly as a control surface. Live should take it over.

Thanks! I did try that but it didn't really work. I noticed that Live was also only picking about 2 octaves of my Graphite 49, so it must have been something with the way Live was getting the MIDI signals of all the controllers. Anyhow, reinstalling Live made the trick, so it's all fine now.
